One fails to make out whether Chandrababu Naidu, the Opposition leader in the State is trying to draw the attention of the people or the Government.

In an innovative approach on Saturday, the Telugu Desam chief  drove an auto-rickshaw for some distance  and then got into a car and drove it for a while before  he finally moved on to pull a push-cart.

Addressing the media after these manoeuvres, he said  `` the auto drivers have to fill their autos with about eight litres of diesel a day.  With the diesel prices shooting up, the auto drivers have to shell out an additional Rs 20 per day. The total amounts  to Rs 600 per month, which is a burden on the common man  like the auto driver.’’

Driving home the point, the TDP chief said how the Congress made lofty  promises during the polls that they would  not  jack up the fuel prices. He also urged the UPA Government to roll back the fuel prices.

``Rise in oil prices will have an inductive effect on all the commodities because of the transportation charges. These are the things that a Government  should  bear in mind  before taking a decision,’’ Chandrababu added.

As reported earlier, the TDP chief tried many gimicks like going to the Assembly on a bullock cart and on cycle to draw the attention of the public and the media while  targeting the ruling Congress.
