The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday ordered an immediate stay on the exhibition of Telugu film titled High School, which was scheduled for release throughout the state in the day.
The film directed by Narasimha Nandi and produced by Mallanna has Kiron Rathod and Karthick in the lead. Its music has been scored by Saketh Sairam. Following objections from several quarters in view of the theme and the impact the movie may have on the teen-aged students, the High Court ordered a stay on the exhibition of the film.
The movie, which is about the love affair of a 13-year school student with his 30-year-old teacher, is considered unethical. Earlier, the State Human Rights Commission also took exception to the contents of the film and directed the Regional Film Censor Board to probe the antecedents of the film before submitting its report.
The court direction came after it considered a petition against the exhibition of the film. However, director Narasimha Nandi has made it clear that he has not yet received any court orders restricting the exhibition of the film.
