Students bid to protest Governor's address foiled

The students' Joint Action Committee on Tuesday tried to block the entry of Governor ESL Narasimhan while he was on way to address the Vice-Chancellors’ conference at NG Acharya Ranga Agricultural University here.

The students descended on the Agriculture University campus, raised ‘‘Jai Telangana’’ slogans and made a vain bid to block the way  of the Governor while he was entering the campus.

The police soon swung into action and whisked away the students from the spot. This created a mild flutter among the students who were present on the campus.

The V-Cs’ conference was to consider the suggestions made by Swaminathan’s Committees before their implementation. Governor Narasimhan was there to make an inaugural address.
