After Housing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana’s sensational statement favouring the bifurcation of the state, another minister from Andhra region, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, follows suit
Emulating Botsa on the bifurcation issue, Technical Education and Law Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao said ``the backward areas in the state's three regions would get funds only if the state is divided into smaller units.’’
Now with the Samaikyandhra movement slowly losing its sheen, the leaders are raising their voice. Venkata Ramana who represents Repalle said ``the demand for separate Telangana has valid reasons and I agree with Botsa Satyanarayana in this regard.’’
What is most intriguing about the Congress leaders at this juncture is that the Telangana Congress leaders like, D Srinivas are making statements which appear like anti-Telangana, while Andhra leaders like Botsa and Mopidevi are making statements against integrated Andhra Pradesh.
