Actor Balakrishna saw a facade of Telangana activists’ ire on Monday as he was shooting for the Tollywood film Simha.

Balakrishna was at the shooting location at Rampallidayara in Kisara mandal of Rangareddi district when a group of Telangana activists attacked the shooting in a bid to disrupt the film in protest against the actor’s known stand on the Telangana statehood.

Balakrishna is one of the strongest supporters of Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu whose controversial stand on the Telangana issue has evoked the ire of the activists.

Policemen reached the spot on learning about the disturbance and dissuaded the T-activists from creating a chaos and took 30 of them into preventive custody. The policemen also insisted that the film shoot be abandoned forth with, as the organizers failed to obtain the prior permission of the Police Department.
