TDP walks out over power to farmers

Telugu Desam party on Wednesday staged a walkout from the House over the farmers’ issue. 

When the House met for the day, the Opposition Tdp members charged the Government with failure to supply nine-hour free power to the farm sector and give power connections to irrigation pumpsets. 

Replying to the Opposition chargea, Agriculture Minister Raghuveera Reddy said the Government was making all efforts to provide power connections to irrigation pumpsets. 

He urged the Opposition to bring to his notice problems in this regard. “If the Opposition brings them to the notice of his Ministry, the Government would rectify the anomalies,” he said. 

Not satisfied with the Minister’s reply and the government's indifference on the farmers' issues, the Tdp members staged a walkout from the House.
