'Cops beat up girl students, touched private parts...'

Condemning the recent incidents at Osmania University as ``unparalled’’, a joint statement issued by the JAC, Medical & Health (Telengana) Officers Forum, Telangana Retired Employees Forum, Writers’ Forum and Advocates Forum on Tuesday said the police attacks led by Joint  Commissioner of Police were pre-planned and mala fied.

'' The campus was first converted into a concentration camp as practised by the Nazis who attacked the Press before they attacked their equipment and burnt their vehicles. Then the students were attacked ruthlessly as there was none to report their acts. As the girl students came to the agitating students’ rescue, they too were chased into the hostels. The cops  entered the girls’ rooms and dragged them out before they were roughed up,'' the Telangana Federation of employees alleged.

 ‘‘The cops used abusive language against the girls and touched their private parts before beating them with their lathis, in a bid to injure them physically and morally as in a war. They targeted the modesty of girls as if to teach them a lesson,’’ the statement said.

 What is heinous is that the 108 services were not allowed into the campus, the statement added and demanded that the IPS officers who should have discharged their duties impartially were acting like goons and needed to be suspended.
