Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao informed that the Civil Supplies and Agricultural Marketing departments have so far purchased 4,73,207 quintal paddy during this season.
Harish Rao said as many as 1,732 Centres were established to procure paddy. They include 214 Centres in Nizamabad, 248 in Jagtial, 145 in Sircilla, 44 in Nirmal, 67 in Peddapalli, 84 in Warangal Rural, 41 in Warangal Urban, 40 in Jangaon, 54 in Nalgonda, 16 in Suryapet and 106 in Yadadari district. The minister held a review meeting with the officials in Siddipet on the procurement of paddy and cotton. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the State Government was ready to procure entire paddy. He said so far 96,348 farmers have sold paddy worth Rs. 752 crore. He directed the District Collectors to clear all obstacles in the procurement process.
