Sec 144 clamped in city

With the Osmania University Telangana Joint Action Committee calling for a ‘Telangana bandh’ on Saturday opposing the terms of reference of the B N Srikrishna Committee on Telangana statehood, the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner A K Khan on Saturday imposed Section 144 in the city to prevent any untoward incidents.

He told reporters the ban orders was effective from 6 a.m. on  Saturday to 6 am on Sunday in the city limits.

He said the parties and associations should take permission before organizing dharnas, agitations, rallies and conferences in the city limits.

Meanwhile, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Prabhakar Reddy announced Sec 144 was imposed in Cyberabad police limits from Saturday 6 am to 6 am on Sunday.
