Former Home Minister Jana Reddy did not feel shy to defend that he is keen on becoming the Chief Minister of ‘Telangana state’ provided he is given an opportunity to occupy the post.
Reddy claimed that he has the potential to become the chief minister and would lose no opportunity to become the head of the new state under way. He sought to know from media persons what is wrong in hoping to become the head of the State when the newsmen asked him whether he intended to be the chief minister of the new state.
He told newsmen here in the day that he, indeed, meant to become the chief minister of the proposed state.
He was reported in a section of the press on Friday as having cherished the desire to be the chief minister of the Telangana state. On Friday Jana Reddy was in Nalgonda where he was obstructed by Telangana activists who demanded that he resign from the Joint Action committee over the Terms of Reference of the Srikrishna panel. Reddy, however, rejected the authority of the J AC to demand the resignation.
Former minister Jeevan Reddy on Saturday criticized Jana Reddy’s claim for the chief minister’s post even before the state was constituted. ‘‘It is too early to think of the chief ministerial post when the state formation has not begun as yet,’’ he added.
