Hyderabad, Feb 5: Probing into all aspects of the Park Hospital fire on Wednesday, the State government is gearing up to take stringent action against those who violated the construction and fire safety norms.Minister for Municipal Administration Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, told media persons that the fire in Park Hospital is seen as a lapse on the part of the hospital management to ensure the fire safety norms while constructing the complex. ``The government is looking into this aspect.

Most of the multi-storied buildings in the State were built by throwing the rules to the winds,’’ he added.``The Hospital is bound to ensure that laws relating to fire protection, health and general safety are maintained on the premises from which the Hospital operates irrespective of whether the relevant regulatory requirements place the obligation upon the owner or occupier of those premises.,’’ the  Minister observed.At present, there are 15 fire stations in the Capital and we will strengthen the fire-fighting stations, Anam told reporters.

``In order to ensure sufficient water supply in the Twin Cities during the summer, the GHMC is drawing out a scheme,''  the Minister averred.``Steps are being taken to hold a check on the people, who are trying to encroach the burial places. The authorities have ordered constriction of a wall to protect the burial area and  cremation areas,’’ Anam  said.
