T-panel begins deliberations

New Delhi, Feb 4: As part of the accelerating process of finalizing the terms of reference (TOR) of the five-member Committee constituted on the Telangana issue, the Government on Thursday started deliberations.Vinod K Duggal,  Member-Secretary of the newly formed Committee had a 30-minute meeting with Union Home Minister P Chidamabram and Home Secretary Gopal K Pillai. They discussed the broad contours of the TOR. Duggal also met Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily for further suggestions on TOR.

“The  TOR is being drafted and would be finalized in consultation with former Supreme Court judge Justice B.N. Srikrishna who is the chairman of the committee,” reported a Home  ministry official. According to sources, Duggal  will fly to Mumbai later in the day  to  appraise Justice B.N. Srikrishna about the  latest developments."We are trying our best to quickly put in place the terms of reference," a Home ministry official said. The TOR is likely to be announced by the weekend.
