Hyderabad, Feb 01: Telangana supporters led by all-parties Joint Action Committee leaders picketed in front of Rangareddy District Collectorate on Monday, leading to a mild lathi-charge and mass arrests by the police.JAC convener Prof Kodandaram, Telugu Desam Party senior leaders Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Devender Goud were among those who were arrested. They were shifted to Nampally Police station.Speaking to the media, TDP leader Devender Goud urged the people to put an end to the lobbying of Seemandhra leaders. ``All the parties including Congress will be part of the JAC,’’ the former home minister said.
If any of the leaders back out from the movement they will have to face the ire of public, he warned.Convener Kondanram said `` The week long protests in the form of picketing, dharnas and demonstrations will be conducted allover Telangnan refgion.’’Nagam Janardhan Reddy told the media that `` the panel should be constituted to look into the bifurcation of the state and nothing more than that. Only a constitutional crisis will help resolve the Telangana imbroglio.’’``By arresting the JAC leaders, the Government cannot stall the Telangana movement,’’ he further added.
