Hyderabad, Jan 29: Indian Premier League (Ipl) organisers were on Friday promised comprehensive security to the players for the third edition of the cricket extravaganza and urged to reconsider their decision to shift the venue of the inaugural match from Hyderabad to Mumbai.Sports Minister K Venkata Reddy said security will be provided to all the matches to be played in the state. The agitations for separate Telangana state had forced the Ipl to drop the opener earlier this month.

However, the other four matches will be held here.Earlier this week, owners of the home team Deccan Chargers met the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders to seek assurance about the smooth conduct of matches in the city. The TRS activists assured their support over the issue but the pro-Telangana organisations said the security intended for the Ipl could be better utilised to maintain law and order in the region.
