Vijayawada, Jan 29: ``The Congress Party stoked the state bifurcation passions even without consulting its coalition partners. Now the Congress party alone should take the blame for the current turmoil and solve it amicably,'' said Mylavaram MLA Devineni Umamhaswara Rao.Participating in Samaikyaandhra Joint Action Committee meeting here on Friday, the MLA took excepion to Union Home Minister Chidambaram's announcement of a committee on Telangana.
If it goes in favour of bifurcation, the JAC would intensify stir and bring the Union Government to its knees, he wanred.Telangana region had witnessed unprecedented development in all sectors since the formation of the Andhra Pradesh. Some leaders from the region were manipulating genuine reports of economic survey to mislead the people of Telangana, he added.Former minister Mandali Buddha Prasad wondered how can the Centre buckle under the pressure of JAC leaders.
If Telangana is bifurcated, the Centre will have to confront demands for separate statehood in several parts of the country, including Chidambaram's home state, before solving the Telangana issue, Buddha Prasad said adding because of the Union Government's December 9 unilateral statement, the people of the state were vertically divided and the state was thrown into turmoil.JAC convenor Kolanukonda Sivaji was present.
