Nalgonda, Jan 29: The Nalgonda Police increased its vigil on the movement of the Telangana activists using digital cameras and video cameras all over the district. The stir was vehement in Nakrekal, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Bhongir towns of the district during the Telangana agitation.Leaders associated with the Joint Action Committee have are regularly conducting meetings, seminars and dharnas besides cultural programmes about the problems being faced by the people of Telangana in the last 60 years.

Several writers, artistes and intellectuals joined in the awareness campaigns during the Telangana stir.Meanwhile, the Nalgonda police decided to increase its surveillance on the activities of Telangana leaders and students leaders including the JAC activists.With the increased use of gadgets like digital cameras and video cameras  in all the police station limits, the police concentrated their focus on Nakrekal town. Several leaders of Telangana Rastra Samithi, PDSU and Janashakthi were involved in pitched struggle for Telangana damaging public and private properties like RTC buses, private buses, vehicles passing by the national Highway No.9.

Many leaders were recently arrested and remanded to custody in Nakrekal.Many of the leaders who are currently lodged in the District Jail were booked under  non-bailable sections.The police in Nalgonda seemed to have decided to put down the Telangana moment with an iron hand. Although several  JAC leaders and  student leaders are opposing the police cases and arrests, the Government is determined to crush the rebellion even as a political solution is on the anvil.
