Telangana TDP Working President and MLA A. Revanth Reddy has described the State budget for 2017-18, presented by Finance Minister Eatala Rajender in Assembly on Monday, as a bundle of lies.
Speaking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, Revanth Reddy said that the TRS Government did not waive off the crop loans even after three years. He said while nearly Rs. 11,000 crore were required to completely waive off the crop loans, the State Government has allocated an amount of Rs. 4,000 Crore. He said there was no mention of providing assistance to the families of farmers who committed suicide. As against the requirement of Rs. 4,300 crore for Fee Reimbursement, only Rs. 1900 crore have been allocated. He said that the government had promised to construct 2.60 lakh double bed room houses. But so far, it has completed the construction of about 1400 houses.
Revanth Reddy said that the basic analysis of previous budgets show that the government did not spend even 50% of the amounts allocated for SC, ST, BC and Minorities Welfare.
