Hyderabad, Jan 23: Addressing a huge rally organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at the Nizam College grounds here on Saturday, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said that she is confident that Telangna will get a separate statehood. The Bharaitya Janata Party will stand by the Telangna movement till a separate Telangana is achieved.
Emphasizing on Bharatiya Janata Party’s stand on smaller states, she recalled how BJP was responsible in carving out Uttaranchal and Chhattisgarh from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh respectively. Hitting out at the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA), she questioned the Congress-led government at the centre as to how long would it take for consensus to be arrived on the issue of Telangana.
She reaffirmed her party’s decision to stand by the Telangana movement till a separate state is achieved and appealed to the students not to take extreme measures of committing suicides. ``You should neither be responsible for the deaths of others during the agitation nor you should put an end to your life. You should live to fight the battle to achieve Telangana,’’ the BJP leader observed.
