Hyderabad, Jan 21: Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao on Thursday said the Chief Minister has directed the district Collectors to take steps to promote Information Technology industry in the districts.Briefing media persons about the deliberations at the two-day Collectors Conference held in Jubilee Hall,  Rao revealed that it was decided to entrust the General Manager of the District Industrial Centre with the job of convening the District level Industrial Taskforce Committee, to be headed by the Collector.

The Revenue Minister said that said that the government was keen to curb the issue of fake ‘No Objection Certificates’ by making it mandatory that these NOCs could be only issued by an district-level officer after thorough verification. An order would be issued shortly in this regard, he said.Mr Prasada Rao also said that the government has decided to provide Rs 25 crore a year to ten districts for promoting food processing industries. They are: Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Kurnool, Karimnagar, Medak, Kadapa, Guntur, Prakasam, Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam.The Collectors were also ordered to complete all the ongoing drinking water works in the districts before summer so that people did not face water problem.
