The YSR Congress Party on Thursday accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of colluding with the Centre to deny the special category status.
Speaking to media persons here, Ysrcp spokesperson Ambati Rambabu alleged that the AP CM was claiming that instead of special status, the state would get special financial package. However, the financial package had no constitutional validity. He said that the SCS was promised in AP Reorganisation Act but the financial package does not have constitutional guarantee. What if the Centre back tracks on the issue as well like it did on the special status? he asked.
Ambati alleged that the CM was misleading the people of the state on special status and financial package. He demanded the CM to apologize to the people of the state for misleading them on the contentious issue. He wondered as to why Chandrababu had changed his mind on special status when he was actually demanding the same for 15 years, he asserted.
The Ysrcp leader came down heavily on the Centre saying that its decision of demonetization has done a severe damage to the rural economy. He questioned as to why Chandrababu was silent on the issue.
