New Delhi, Jan 20: Even as turmoil by students on the Osmania University campus led to about 45 people being injured, the Centre dodged queries by media persons as to whether it would announce a definite time-frame for the creation of a separate Telangana state by January 28 deadline set by the Joint Action Committee.Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi described the issue of a separate Telangana as ‘intricate’ and said that it should not be ‘straight-jacketed’ in a time frame.
He said that there was no quick fix solution to the contentious issue.Mr Singhvi said that, "A comprehensive process is underway to elicit views of every stakeholder and generate a consensus. Nothing should be done that muddies this process," while referring to the Centre’s confabulations on the issue with various parties pushing for a separate state or those who are against it. He said that a balanced approached by all stake-holders over the issue was the need of the hour.
