Hyderabad, Jan 15: Taking a serious view of the Vishwapriya Apartments burglary, the Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Friday directed the Hyderabad Police Commissioner Prasada Rao to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the issue.Talking to media here, the Home Minister said the burglars looted seven flats in Visawapriya Apartments in Kothapeta in the early hours of Friday.She said the burglars looted gold ornaments and other valuables worth to the tune of lakhs of rupees from seven flats.
The thieves had entered one of the flat by breaking the rear door as the inmates were away from the city due to Sankranthi festival.She directed the Police commissioner to speed up the probe and submit a detailed report on the issue.She also asked the Police Commissioner to step up vigil on the outskirts of the city to contain house-burglaries. She told house owners to inform the nearest police station before leaving for their native places. This will help the police in restricting burglaries, the home minister observed.
