MLC and AICC leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday alleged that the Centre was taking unilateral decision on the construction of Polavaram project.
Speaking to media persons in New Delhi, Ponguleti demanded that the Centre take the views of Telangana while constructing the Polavaram project. The Centre should at least now ensure that the seven mandals under which 500 villages of Khammam are threatened by the submergence due to the project are saved. The government should protect the people of these villages, the AICC leader demanded. He demanded the TS Chief Minister to lead an all party delegation on Polavaram to the Centre for a solution.
The AICC leader alleged that the chief ministers of two Telugu states were taking people of their states for a ride by not fulfilling poll promises made by their respective parties. He termed the refusal of the special status to AP by the Centre as a gross injustice to the state.
