Hyderabad, Jan 13: Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Wednesday stated that he disagreed with the statement of Director General of Police RR Girish Kumar, that dearth of resources would result in smaller states facing more problems from militancy. The PCC chief was speaking to reporters after paying tributes to former chief minister late Dr M Channa Reddy, where he said that smaller states like Chandigarh, Punjab and Gujarat have seen almost no militancy and said that the size of any state does not come in the way of a state’s development.

Mr Srinivas was quick to point out that the Centre would be handling problems like militancy.Mr Srinivas was critical of the DGP by stating that Mr Girish Kumar should not have made any comments on smaller states particularly when the Andhra Pradesh was in the grip of calls of its bifurcation. He said that if any threat of security or militancy was detected, it should have been conveyed to either the Chief Minister or the Home Minister.
