Nizamabad MP and TRS leader K. Kavita on Saturday took potshots at the opposition leaders for criticizing the TRS government’s agreement on the irrigation projects with the Maharashtra government.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Kavita said that the opposition leaders were talking in a manner that shows that they lack minimum awareness on the irrigation projects in the state. However, she hailed Leader of Opposition in Assembly K Jana Reddy who said that there was no agreement with the Maharashtra Government on Tammidihatti project with 152 meter height. "Irrespective of the political affiliations, Congress leader Jana Reddy spoke facts. other Congress leaders need to emulate Jana Reddy and speak facts and not mislead the people of the state," the TRS MP said.
Kavita alleged that the people of the state knew that the Congress leaders were spreading propaganda campaign and warned that resorting to such misinformation campaign would prove costly to the opposition leaders. Congress guzzled crores of money in the name of projects without actually working on them, she alleged.
She lashed out at TD leader Revanth Reddy saying that the TD MLA was working on the directions of the party high command based at Amravati. "Revanth should know the topography of the Telangana also and not just AP. Since Medigadda project is in Adilabad, and Adilabad borders Maharashtra, hence the agreement was done with Maharashtra government for the project. He should stop indulging in propaganda campaign," she said.
Kavita said that it was the responsibility of the BJP to get national project status for the Kaleshwaram project. Maintaining that the reorganization of district was being done scientifically, she appealed the people of the state to cooperate with the state government in the exercise.
