Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Dr. N. Raghuveera Reddy on Monday demanded Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu pressurise the Centre to grant the SCS to AP.
Raghuveera Reddy said that the Chief Minister should ensure that voting takes place on the SCS issue on August 5 and see to it that the state is accorded the special status. Addressing party workers at a meeting in the party office here on Monday, he warned of staging protests in front of the Union Minister from the state to press for their demand.
He said that the true colours of the TD and the BJP were exposed and that the people lost faith in both these parities. Despite denying the SCS to AP, the TD is still continuing in the Modi Cabinet which shows that the TD is least bothered about the issue and was fooling people all these days. Moreover, the TD is blaming Congress unnecessarily for all the mess created by the NDA, he said.
"If TD chief is so serious about the state, then he should speak to the Prime Minister and the BJP leaders and convince them to accord AP special status," the APCC chief demanded.
