Stating that Andhra Pradesh topped in corruption, Congress leader C. Ramachandraiah on Saturday said that nobody was coming forward to set up industry in the state.
The only way to attract investments in the state would be to accord Special Category Status as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, the former minister said. The Chief Minister must use the opportunity of the Inter-State Council to press the promise of SCS for AP, he added
He noted in this connection that of the Rs 700 crore allotted by the Centre for the backward districts in AP, only Rs 7 crore was used so far. He demanded a while paper on the subject. He alleged that corruption was taking state backward and warned that the people of the state would teach TD a lesson for taking people for a ride in the name of capital city construction.
