Will never quit Congress party, announces Suresh Reddy

Congress senior leader and former Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy on Friday strongly denied reports of his possible exit from Congress party to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Suresh Reddy alleged that a section of media has been publishing baseless reports aimed at tarnishing the image and credibility of Congress leaders. He said he did not meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ever since the formation of Telangana State. "The last time I met KCR was in New Delhi during the all-party meeting convened by the then UPA Government to discuss formation of Telangana," he said.

Suresh Reddy said that his family has been associated with the Congress for over 100 years. "I will not quit Congress party till my last breath. I don't need to run after power. Some TRS leaders and a section of media have been spreading baseless rumours and people should not trust them," he said.
