Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, the Nalgonda MLA alleged that Uttam Kumar Reddy was more inefficient than his predecessor Ponnala Lakshmaiah in running the party. He said Uttam lacks leadership skills and he was totally responsible for the party dismal performance in three by-elections and municipal elections including GHMC polls. He said that the party could have performed better if it had given the State leadership to any leader who had participated in the Telangana statehood movement. However, he said Uttam was proved incapable to lead the party.

He said if he was the party president then he would have resigned form the post after so many defeats. But, Uttam Kumar Reddy was continuing on the post despite so much of criticism on his leadership.

Komatireddy also blamed Uttam Kumar Reddy for the defeat of his brother Rajagopal Reddy from Bhongir Lok Sabhba seat in the last General Elections. He alleged that Uttam conspired to ensure Rajagopal Reddy's defeat to maintain his dominance in the region.

The Nalgonda MLA said that the Congress High Command should take corrective steps to strengthen the party in Telangana. If the High Command fails to perform essential surgery on Telangana Congress now, then it would have to conduct party's post-mortem after next elections, he said.
