TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh said that the party has left one Rajya Sabha seat in Andhra Pradesh for BJP at the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Lokesh said that Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu's candidature from Andhra Pradesh would strengthen the relationship between the TDP and BJP. He hoped that Suresh Prabhu would utilise all resources to develop Andhra Pradesh. He said TDP was part of BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre and both the parties have been working hard for the welfare of people.

Lokesh said TG Venkatesh was picked as TDP candidate for Rajya Sabha seat as he represents the Rayalaseema region. Similarly, he lauded the services of second candidate, Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Y.S. Chowdhary towards the party and State. He hoped that all three leaders, including Suresh Prabhu, would make effective representation of issues concerning Andhra Pradesh in the Upper House of Parliament.
