The Ysr Congress Party, which has fielded V. Vijaysai Reddy as its candidate, has filed another nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Minutes before the end of deadline for filing of nominations for Rajya Sabha elections on Tuesday, Vijaya Sai Reddy's wife Sunanda Reddy submitted her nomination papers. According to sources, this was done as a precautionary measure. Since Vijaya Sai Reddy is an accused in some cases, including the Disproportionate Assets case of YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, his nomination faces the threat of being rejected. If that happens, Sunanda Reddy will be the official candidate. If Vijaya Sai Reddy's nomination gets cleared during scrutiny on Wednesday, then Sunanda Reddy would withdraw her candidature.
