Hyderabad, Jan 6: After the inconclusive talks on the simmering discontent over Telangana, political leaders of all hues from the State are lobbying with the senior Congress leaders to impress them upon on the need for an early solution.Most of the leaders, who reached Delhi for the Jan 5 conclave are still lobbying with various political party leaders in the Capital. MPs from Rayalaseema and Andhra met Union Home Minister P Chidamabram in the North Block on Wednesday and aired their views.Praja Rajyam Party chief Chiranjeevi was the next to hold deliberations with Chidambaram when he called on the Home Minister and explained his party’s stand on the vexed T-issue.
The PRP chief requested the Home Minister to use his offices effectively in restoring normalcy and peace in the state at the earliest. In view of the students’ examinations in March, the actor-turned-politician urged the Minister to help create a congenial atmosphere in the State.Referring to the state, Chiranjeevi said the administration has come to a grinding halt and the industrialists and investors are finding it difficult to go ahead with their scheduled business. The daily wage earners are also finding it difficult to carry on with their daily grind because of frequent bandhs.
Chidambaram gave them a patient hearing without committing himself on the issue. The Home Minister said he would convey their views to the Prime Minister and other senior Congress leaders.Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, is expected to hold a meeting with the Home Minister at 3 p.m. in the day. KCR is expected to appeal to the Home Minister to follow up the Centre’s decision on Telangana with Constitutional process.
