Are They Over Estimating Akhil?

Akkineni scion Akhil’s film entry was sensational and best of its kind ever seen in Telugu cinema history. In fact, many young heroes took their way into industry shouldering the burden of family legacy and succeeded but Akhil’s entry was something more than regular ones. A heavy budget with socio fantasy subject, star director like VV Vinayak and prestigious Sresht movies banner belonging to Nithin, Sudhakar Reddy produced ‘Akhil’ on an unforeseen budget never examined on a debutant. 

Resultantly, ‘Akhil’ bombed heavily failing to rake at least Rs.20 Crores thus keeping Akhil’s actual potential under a question mark. If reports are to be believed, Akhil’s second film planned with director Vamsy Paidipally is also facing a similar budget problem. Apparently PVP Cinema, Mythri Movies and Annapurna Studios are leading banners in pipeline to produce Akhil’s second flick.

Vamsy has put forward the requirement of Rs.40 Crores budget on working with Akhil. As this budget is nowhere near to Akhil’s first film overall share, obviously producers are shaken. Mythri rolled back and PVP is also in second thoughts. So, Nagarjuna alone has to sort it out with Vamsy in order to take this project forward on Annapurna banner, a film source reported.
