Differences over T-state continue to turn situation murkier

Hyderabad, Jan 5: While the leaders of all-parties, comprising  Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Telegu Desam Party, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, the Praja Rajyam, the CPM, CPI and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, are meeting Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in New delhi on Tuesday to discuss and resolve the vexed Telangana Issue, differences on the Telangana Issue are still continuing between the Telangana and non-Telangana leaders.Union Home Secretary G K Pillai is expected to take part in the meeting which may continue till late in the evening and the discussions would not, immediately, lead to any conclusive decisions, say political analysts.

Back in the State's Telangana region, protests and shutdowns have been orgainised igniting the demands for statehood. Similar bandhs have been called in the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions opposing the bifurcation of the state.Eighty-eight trains including 39 passenger trains have been cancelled as the authorities fear that the railway property will be damaged if protesters stop the trains.Schools, colleges, banks, ATMs, hotels, theatres, shops and offices remained closed in the day. Chief Minister K Rosaiah is expected to discuss with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister the current crisis in the state.

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, who arrived in Delhi to attend the meeting, made it clear that he will put up a strong case for Telangana statehood.PRP chief Chiranjeevi has said he would raise his voice for a united Andhra. The Congress and TDP are under pressure from their Telangana and non-Telangana leaders who have pushed them to stick to their known stands and the statements pronounced on December 9 and December 23 respectively.
