PCC plea for action against Venkata Reddy

Hyderabad, Jan1: Indications are clear that Endowments Minister Gade Venkata Reddy is out of favour and his exit is imminent.Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson K Mrithyunjayam on Friday urged the party High Command to take disciplinary action against the Minister for questioning the right of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to make a statement on Telangana issue.The Pcc spokespersons told media persons that it was ‘surprising’ that a senior Minister like Venkata Reddy feigned ignorance about the capacity of Mr Chidambaram.

“The Congress High Command should take disciplinary action against Mr Gade Venkata Reddy for his outbursts against the Union Home Minister,” he said and added that the Centre was prepared to create Telangana state the day it decided to align with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the 2004 general elections and the party had promised to work on the Telangana issue prior to the general elections in 2009.
Even party general-secretary Rahul Gandhi was also in favour of smaller states.
