Nagam roughed up at OU

Hyderabad,Dec 24: Irate students attacked Telugu Desam Party politburo member Nagam Janardhan Reddy when he visited Osmania University campus to express solidarity with them on the Telangana statehood issue.Reddy was rushed to a nearby private hospital after he collapsed.As he was whisked away,the students turned their ire on the cars in which he and his fellow TDP leader MLA E Dayakar Rao reached the university.

The cars were overturned and stoned, and their windshields smashed.Janardhana Reddy visited the campus after submitting his resignation from the state Assembly over the Telangana issue.Dayakar Rao managed to evade the ire of the students as his aides shielded him.The aides later complained that no police personnel were present there though the had given prior information about the TDP leaders’ visit.
