Litmus test for Rosaiah: To be or not to be

Hyderabad,Dec 22: Weathering the storms, either man-made or natural, the Congress party has set its eyes on the leadership in Andhra Pradesh to consolidate the party in the state.K Rosaiah who assumed charge as Chief Minister in September after the untimely death of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, has been confronted with myriads of problems of various types. It all began with dissidence from within in September, floods in October and continued through the ticklish Telangana agitations and integrated state stir in December.Having  come  to the end of the year and only with a few days away from the New Year, the High Command is all set to test Rosaiah’s endurance before the financial year comes to an end in March, 2010.

Prior to this test, the CM will be given a freehand to articulate the ministerial berths in his cabinet for the smooth functioning of the Government. Besides allocation of ministerial berths to the right  persons, the onus of moulding the team into a strong one that can deliver effective results rests on his shoulders. The three months beginning January 2010 will prove to be crucial for Rosaiah, who will have to tide over the problems and prove himself to be a result-oriented leader with strong will power. His rule in the State will be closely monitored and analysed by the observers of Congress High Command who in turn will decide whether Rosaiah should continue in the chair or a change in the guard is needed.
