Lagadapati to call off fast?

Hyderabad,Dec 22: Vijayawada Member of Parliament Lagadapati Rajagopal who is on fast at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital here has decided to call off his stir on Tuesday.He is expected to address a media meet at 2 p.m.explaining his stand in the bifurcation of the state and the course of action he may adopt in future.The Vijayawada leader, who escaped from the Government General Hospital on Sunday night from amidst the tight police security cordon comprising 300 policemen, resurfaced at the NIMS Hospital on Monday.There were protests from pro-Telangana  activists who were denouncing the leader for his stand over Telangana formation.

Rajagopal’s  decision to call off the fast has become the central point of focus for the united Andhra movement. Lagadapati has come to the Centrestage after he started his indefinite fast in Vijayawada, and he continues to remain so even after his sudden disappearance from there to resurface in Hyderabad.Since the way he has attained high visibility in the past ten days,many people aspiring for integrated Andhra Pradesh are looking forward to him for support and leadership. If Lagadapati continues his agitation and helps constitute an Independent Andhra Pradesh,he may be one of the likely contenders for the Chief Minister’s post.Things will be clear, once he unravels his plans before media persons.
