Rajagopal ‘unsafe’ at NIMS,may be shifted

Hyderabad,  Dec 21: Fearing threat to his  life from pro-Telangana  supporters, the police are planning to shift Vijayawda MP Rajagaopal  from the Nizam Insititute of Medical Sciences here. With tension mounting hour  by  hour and  more and more supporters of pro-Telangana pouring into NIMS shouting slogans against Rajagopal,   the  authorities are planning to shift  the fasting MP from  NIMS, to a  safer place. The students from Osmania University, meanwhile, stormed the  hospital premises in batches and the police had a tough time in controlling the situation.Already the police arrested a group of students and are finding it increasingly tough to handle the situation. In view of the tense situation prevailing at the hospital, the authorities are trying to prevail upon Rajagopal to concede to his shifting. Even if Rajagopal does not agree,he  may be shifted at any time, according to the  police sources.

A large police force has already been deployed and the traffic has been diverted near NIMS.It is learnt that a large number of students are on their way to NIMS but they  were prevented by the police at Vidyadharpuram. Despite the restrictions at  NIMS, an uneasy calm prevails. The traffic has come to a standstill at Panjagutta causing inconvenience to the commuters.Rajya Sabha member and a staunch Telangana Congress leader V Haunumantha Rao, urged the authorities to shift Lagadapati from  NIIMS. Hitting out at Rajagopal, he said, Lagadapati is fasting for a cause on one hand and is expecting the best of medical-care and facilities on the other.
