New Delhi,Dec 18: The Communist Party of India (CPI) accused the Congress party of ‘deliberately’ undermining  Parliamentary democracy by using the Telangana issue as a ‘ploy’ to get the Lok Sabha adjourned abruptly.Addressing media persons after the Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Friday, a day ahead of schedule, CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta said, "Congress is not only using undemocratic methods to undermine Parliament, but also trying to make it irrelevant by getting it adjourned ahead of schedule using the Telengana issue as a ploy.

"He said it is a matter of concern when individual members or parties disrupt proceedings, but the greater concern was the government’s behaviour which showed that the government was willing to make Parliament irrelevant by the adjournment of the House and getting bills passed without debate. He accused the Congress of deliberately using issues like the Telangana issue to avoid being answerable on various issues like price rise, unemployment and climate change.
