Shankar Rao condemns Bhagwat's comments on Mother Teresa

Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao has strongly condemned the comments made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat against Mother Teresa while linking her to religious conversions.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Shankar Rao said Mother Teresa's contribution for the society could not be explained in words. However, he alleged that some narrow minded people like Bhagwat, have been trying to tarnish her image while ignoring the reality. He said despite being a professional doctor, he hesitated to touch a patient affected with leprosy. Similar is the case of other doctors. But Mother Teresa served poor, weaker and deprived sections of the society without showing any discrimination.

Shankar Rao warned Bhagawat against targeting Saints like Mother Teresa. Else, he said that the people would teach him a fitting lesson.
