New Delhi,Dec 9:United Progressive Alliance chairperson and Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday urged Congress Members of Parliament from the Telangana region to be patient over the separate statehood issue, assuring them that the Government was seized of the matter.The MPs had apprised her of the latest developments in the state and said the people of the region were hoping that she,in her capacity as the Congress Party president, would take appropriate steps for the creation of a separate Telangana state.
The MPs had called on her to greet her on her 64th birthday.Speaking to reporters, Sathyanarayana Sarvey,Member of Parliament from Malkajgiri said, "We told her about the Telangana demand. She asked us to be patient and that she is aware of the whole issue and will take a decision."He was accompanied by several other MPs from Telangana region.
