Hyderabad,Dec 9: Chief Minister K Rosaiah told the state Assembly on Wednesday that some “disruptive elements” have infiltrated into the ongoing Telangana agitation, taking advantage of the current unrest. The Chief Minister was speaking in the Assembly after Floor Leaders from various parties expressed their views on the issue. Mr Rosaiah said the main objective of the ‘disruptive elements’ was to create anarchy in the state. Without naming anyone, the Chief Minister said, “We have all the information as to how these elements had infiltrated and at whose behest they are working. We are keeping a close watch and would deal firmly with them.”Rosaiah said the government’s prime concern was to protect the lives and properties of people. Use of police force such as firing or lathicharge was not our policy.
The government was striving to find a solution to the crisis in a democratic manner, he observed. The Chief Minister declined to confirm or deny when media persons asked whether extremists or Naxalites were behind the violence. He only said some disruptive elements had sneaked into the agitation and were creating trouble.Earlier in the day, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over disruptive elements infiltrating into the ongoing Telangana movement and creating law and order problems. He expressed apprehension that the movement was being taken over by these forces and demanded that the government tackle the situation with a firm hand.
