Andhra Pradesh government plans to launch the Swachh Andhra campaign from the state secretariat on a mission mode involving secretaries of all departments.
Reviewing the Swachch Bharat campaign implementation in the Secretariat at the Secretaries conference on Tuesday, Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao said as part of Swachh Andhra campaign the secretariat should be made clean- with clean and green , garbage clearance etc by January 1st, 2015.
The Chief Secretary directed all secretaries to take up Swachh Andhra / Swachh Bharat campaign on a Mission mode with full dedication and also to designate one day in a week as clean and Green day in Government offices.
He said MA&UD Department is designated as the overall Nodal Agency and a consolidated GO will be issued soon to club the Solid liquid management/ Waste Segregation /Public Toilets construction and beautification of drains as part of Swachh Andhra program.
The CS also viewed a power point presentation on the Grievances Redressal System (Meekosam) as devised by the ITE& C Department at the Secretaries conference and sought the secretaries suggestions for its operation within the next fortnight.
The conference also reviewed all the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act and Secretaries were requested to follow it up with the respective departments in Government of India especially with reference to issues of Water Ways, the connectivity to Vizag Port through Chandigarh and Orissa, the Petrochemical Corridor including the cracker unit, establishment AIIMS’s, assistance for New state Capital, Expansion of Airports of Vijayawada, Tirupathi and Vishakapatnam.
