Hyderabad, Dec 8: Bharatiya Janata Party activists would hold up traffic on the National Highways in the State in the event of the Government failing to introduce a resolution awarding statehood to Telangana regions in the ongoing Assembly session which began on Monday, indicated MLA Kishan Reddy on Tuesday.The party legislators led by Reddy, staged a sit-in on the Aassembly precincts, clamouring for a resolution according statehood to Telangana and seeking the support of all MLAs to pass the resolution.
Talking to newsmen, Kishan Reddy said the party would take up rasta-roko on all national highways on Wednesday in case the Government failed to take any decision on theTelangana resolution in the House.Earlier, Bjp state president Bhandaru Dattatreya and former Bjp national president Bangaru Laxman staged a sit-in at the Assembly gate alleging that Telugu Desam and Congress Party were hatching a plot against the introduction of a resolution on Telangana statehood.They asked TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu to make his stand clear on the Telangana issue and raised slogans against him.Meanwhile, the policemen apprehending law and order problem, took Bandaru Dattatreya, Bangaru Laxman and some other Bjp workers into custody.
