Govt failed to check price rise: BJP

  Bharatiya Janata Party (Bjp) Senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday alleged that the both Centre and State governments’ have failed to contain the ‘spiralling’ essential commodity prices.

Talking to media persons here, he said that the price level in the State when compared to neighbouring States is much higher and the State government had ‘failed’ to take effective steps to contain the price hike.

He alleged that both Centre and State Agriculture Ministers are giving different statements for the prevailing situation and confusing the people.

Prices of essential commodities were beyond the reach of the common man but the government displayed an inept attitude in curbing the price rise, he pointed out.

He said the government should take firm measures to contain prices of essential commodities based on demand and supply in the market.

The government failed to check black-marketing of essential commodities, he alleged and warned that it would incur the people’s wrath if prices were not controlled.

He said the Bjp has raised this issue in parliament and would intensify people’s agitation in all states.
