Deputy CLP leader in Assembly T Jeevan Reddy on Tuesday threatened to approach the Governor or Election Commission of India seeking disqualification of rebel legislators of Congress party.
Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Jeevan Reddy said that Assembly Speaker S Madhusudan Chary and Council Chairman Swamy Goud could disqualify the rebel legislators as per Schedule 10 Para (3) of the Constitution. However, he alleged that they were delay the decision on disqualification. He said he would approach Governor ESL Narasimhan or lodge a complaint with the ECI if the Speaker and Chairman fail to take any action.
Jeevan Reddy alleged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was trying to break the opposition parties, which was against the spirit of democracy. He said if KCR was interested in increasing his strength in Assembly, then he should ask rebels of other parties to first quit their posts and join his party. Later, he should get them elected on TRS symbol.
