Hyderabad,Dec 4:Tension prevailed at the Osmania General Hospital on Friday after protestors demanded compensation for the death of a Telangana sympathizer,K Srikanth (28),who on Thursday succumbed to burns caused by his immolation bid against the arrest Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao.The protesting students demanded a compensation of Rs 15 lakh and job for the kin of the deceased before staging a dharna and raising slogans against the government. The agitators did not allow the hospital staff to take the body of Srikanth for post-mortem till the government announced compensation.

The students took the body in a procession from Osmania Hospital to the Gun Point near Assembly raising slogans against the government.The TRS MLAs voluntarily announced a month’s salary as compensation to the deceased family.Srikanth hailed from Nalgonda district and was pursuing physiotherapy in a private college here.He suffered 70 per cent burns and was admitted to a hospital where he died while undergoing treatment,sources said.This is the second incident after TRS launched its agitation afresh for separate Telangana statehood.A pro-Telangana constable committed suicide by shooting himself on Dec 1 at Kamareddy in Nizamabad district. Meanwhile,TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao,who is on an indefinite fast is undergoing treatment at the NIMS Hospital here.
