The government of Singapore will work with the government of Andhra Pradesh in infrastructural, industrial and city development efforts.
A delegation led by former Prime Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong MET Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today and offered support from the Government of Singapore to the state government.
The Chief Minister informed the delegation about the plans of the state government in transforming Andhra Pradesh into a logistics and manufacturing hub. The delegation was briefed about AP’s plan for ports, airports, highways, industrial nodes in Vizag-Chennai and the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridors, petrochemical corridor, to develop smart cities and to promote tourism in a big way.
The delegation offered to share their experience in the design of the new capital city and ensured that it would encourage Singapore-based companies to participate in various port, airport, industrial and tourism projects.
The Singapore delegation suggested to the Chief Minister that funds could be tapped from the proposed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to be set up with China, Singapore and several other countries including India, as founder members.
The delegation also extended an invitation to AP Chief Minister to visit Singapore.
