Will quit politics if Jagga Reddy wins: Harish Rao

Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday said that he would quit politics if BJP candidate T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy wins the Medak Lok Sabha by-elections.

Speaking to media persons, Harish Rao said he was accepting the challenge of TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao of retiring from politics if Jagga Reddy manages to win the by-polls. He also asked whether Errabelli was ready to do the same if BJP candidates lose the elections.

Harish Rao said that the TRS candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy was all set to win the by-elections with a thumping majority. He said that the people of Medak constituency would reject both the Congress and BJP due to their dual stand on Telangana and non-cooperation in the development of the new State. He also thanked the CPI and CPI (M) for extending support to the TRS candidate. He asked the TRS cadre to campaign in close coordination with the workers of Left parties.

The by-elections for Medak Lok Sabha seat, which fell vacant due to the resignation of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is scheduled to be held on September 13.
